Biography

Rani is the Editorial Editor of her high school paper and a Student Advisory Board member at HS Insider. In her leisure, she enjoys playing volleyball, interviewing strangers and feeding her ongoing distaste for oxford commas. Her driving passion — advocating for children while continuing the momentum of social justice movements across the globe. Also, she'll understand if you pronounce her name wrong: just don't anglicize it. Serious pitches and inquiries only. To follow up on a pitch, I will respond directly.

The Stanford Daily

The Stanford Daily is the independent, student-run newspaper of Stanford University, established in 1892. Originally called The Daily Palo Alto, it became The Stanford Daily in 1905 to differentiate itself from another local publication. The newspaper gained independence in the early 1970s, forming The Stanford Daily Publishing Corporation to ensure editorial freedom and impartial reporting. The Stanford Daily provides extensive coverage of news, sports, arts, and events relevant to the Stanford community and beyond. It features an online archive with over a million articles from nearly 19,000 issues. Approximately 200 students contribute to the publication each quarter, making it a vital platform for student journalism and media production. The newspaper serves the Stanford University community, including students, faculty, and staff, while also reaching a broader audience interested in Stanford-related news.
