Biography

I am a journalist from Northern Sri Lanka having over 14 years of experience in leading print and electronic media in Sri Lanka. I have unique experience in reporting the stories of vulnerable communities in conflict-affected region of the country. I’m reading M.Sc. in Executive Mass communication journalism at Asia University in Malaysia via Circa campus corresponding. I have obtained DIPLOMA IN TELEVISION JOURNALISM with the Distinction Pass in Sri Lanka College of journalism (SLCJ). Presently, I am an Assistant News Editor at (VIRAKESARI weekend NEWSPAPER) Express-News Paper (Ceylon) PVT LTD from March, 2017. Also, I do visiting lectures in Investigative Journalism in SLCJ. Previously, I worked as a Parliament Journalist and incharge of Newsroom; worked as a Sub-Editor at (VIRAKESARI DAILY NEWSPAPER) Express-News Paper (Ceylon) PVT LTD; worked as Free-Lance Sports Journalist in THINAKKURAL WEEKLY NEWS; worked as News &Program Presenter in ONE SRILANKA TELEVISION; worked as Assistant Producer in Independent Television Network (Vasantham TV); worked as a story writer in a magazine called “Tamilaruvi” released from Australia. I won the award for BEST Investigative JOUTNALIST of the year and Prof. K. Kailasapathy Award for Reporting Under Special Circumstances in the year 2021 at the 23rd Journalism Award for Excellence held on 13 th December 2022. I won the award for “MERVYN DE SILVA” BEST JOUTNALIST of the year 2018 at the 20th Journalism Award for Excellence held on 10th of December 2019. I was awarded six-month training in Post graduate certificate in MANORAMA SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION at Kottayam, Kerala India. I have wide array of working experience in the areas of Constitution-Based Governance, Good Governance, Fundamental Rights Enviament climate change, Human Rights, reconciliation and Gender Based Equity
