Nearly 15 years ago, he and a group of friends were filming a robbery comedy when police thought the scene was a real crime. Officers arrived with guns drawn and arrested them immediately until the group explained they were filming. Smith attended the university from 2008 to 2010 and has returned to Denton often over the years for work.
