Biography

Rebekah graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2016 with degrees in English and history. After college, she worked as a journalist and researcher at the Institute for Southern Studies in Durham, North Carolina. Her research largely focuses on racial justice, democracy, and Southern history. This research experience, as well as Rebekah’s work with groups like the North Carolina Poor People’s Campaign, motivated her to pursue a degree in public policy. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy at Duke University Sanford School with a particular interest in the intersection between poverty and race.
