By Ric Federighi| WIMS Radio@ LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. — Monday afternoon at 5:11 p.m., Deputy Sawyer Laffoon was dispatched to the 3600 north block of County Line Road in reference to an unconscious subject. A motorist traveling on County Line Road observed an individual lying on an access road just east of County Line Road. The subject was identified as 50-year-old Nicholas E. Irvine of Michigan City. Life-saving services were provided to Irvine at the scene by responding personnel.

At 2:51 a.m., deputies responded to County Road 300 East south of State Road 4 regarding a personal injury crash. The initial on-scene investigation determined that a 2019 Ford, driven by 22-year-old Macayla R. Boone of La Porte, was traveling south on County Road 300 East. The vehicle traveled left of center, off the east side of the roadway, and crashed into two tree stumps.
