Rosalie Neville picked up the win from the pitcher’s circle with two strikeouts. Strong defensive play behind her included a throw from Jaelynn Harraden to Lucy Pesta at third to nail a runner, and then Pesta to Meadow Diede to throw out a runner at the plate for a spectacular double play.

Mashpee fell to 0-5 on the season with the loss. The Vineyarders led by an 8-1 score heading to the bottom of the third, but Mashpee made things interesting. The Lady Falcons got one back in the bottom of the third, when Michelle Gonsalves scored on a passed ball.
