  • Loosen laws to enrich young people’s work ethic

By Richard Drake, Roger Helmrichs, Jeremiah Weigert, Austin Wu Verified| The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, IA) Verified I disagree with The Gazette's editorial against expanding the work opportunities for 14 to 16-year-olds. I don't see it as "pushing kids into dangerous jobs at low pay levels." I also don't see the topic to be much of a solution to labor shortages. I see it as allowing teenagers and parents to make their own decisions as to how the young person earns money and learns about responsibility. How a young person earns a little cash is between the youth and his parents.

  • Newcastle United - A Yorkshire perspective

By Richard Drake| The Mag Verified Love reading The Mag and have been a supporter for years, from back in the days of the paper copy. I would like to give a perspective of Newcastle United from a Yorkshire point of viewI have lived in Bradford and Liversedge for 60+ years but because of my mam, I have followed Newcastle United for as long as I can remember. As you all can imagine, I have taken some grief over the years, due to Mike Ashley’s ownership, which everybody thought was hilarious.
