Biography
I’ve had an eclectic and peripatetic professional life. (Now, that I’ve impressed you with my extensive vocabulary, I promise the rest of this bio will be slightly less pretentious.) After graduating from UC Irvine with a B.A. in Drama, I started my career working in the professional theatre at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego doing subscription sales and play development. This was followed by stints of office temp work in Boston; then shipping department supervising for the Ontario Medical Association in Toronto; and, for the past twenty years, content development on marketing communications teams for these Silicon Valley companies: 8x8, InnoMedia, McAfee, Trend Micro, Qualys, ZingBox, ServiceNow, and Fortinet. When I wasn’t working, I was parenting two children (now adults) in Fremont, CA and writing as a freelancer (scripts, newspaper and magazine features, theatre and book reviews, and blogs). I have had a memoir published (Deaf Daughter, Hearing Father – Gallaudet University Press 2005), and a biography (Deaf Politician - The Gary Malkowski Story - Amazon KDP), and a number of plays produced and published as well.
