Biography
For more than 35-years, I have been a photojournalist. I've worked my way up from a freelancer shooting for a very small twice-weekly suburban newspaper to a staffer for the Chicago Sun-Times Media Company. The wheels of my "career train" temporarily came off the rails when all 28 staff photographers at the Sun-Times were laid off a few days short of my 20th anniversary. Since then I've been building my client list as an independent contractor. One of my main clients is the Chicago Tribune (which purchased many of the publications that the Sun-Times previously owned). Ironically, I am shooting many of the same assignments for the same mastheads, but for a different owner.
