By Rob Hernandez Verified| Wisconsin.Golf Verified The road to Erin Hills and next month's U.S. Women's Open in Wisconsin began Monday with the first of 26 final qualifiers for the 80th playing of the oldest major championship in women's golf. Former West De Pere golfer Skye Two Hawks Skenandore, who now plays out of Evans, Ga., bounced back from an opening 82 with a 72, but missed a U.S. Women's Open homecoming by 16 strokes. It won't be any easier for golfers with Wisconsin ties in the remaining 25 qualifiers to get to Erin Hills, either.

By Rob Hernandez Verified| Wisconsin.Golf Verified Golfers around Wisconsin were teased with a stretch of great, spring-like weather in late January that teased them into thinking the 2025 golf season would start even earlier than it did during 2024 when it started in early February. Unfortunately for them, it lasted little more than a week before a smorgasbord of snow, rain and cold has led to more stops and starts than a freeway in rush-hour traffic. Now, courses around Wisconsin are opening daily by the dozen.
