Biography

Rob LeDonne is an American comedy and culture writer. A native of upstate New York, he kicked off his career as a 'joke faxer' for the debut season of Jimmy Fallon's Late Night. Since then, he has penned material for television shows and specials including Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’s final season, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, MTV's Video Music Awards, and Fox's Teen Choice Awards. In addition, LeDonne has served as a consulting writer for the Onion News Network, MTV Weekends and A&E's Critics' Choice Awards. His humor has appeared in The New Yorker, Playboy, Billboard, Complex and Funny or Die, was a regular contributor for Time Out New York's 'Rants' section, and has written a series of LGTBQ personal essays for GQ. Since 2014, LeDonne has contributed to Rolling Stone, including an annual skewering of Super Bowl commercials. In the fall of 2021 into the spring of 2022, he was a Senior Writer for the legendary advertising agency Media Arts Lab, helping create and foster Apple TV+’s voice on Instagram and Twitter. LeDonne is also a culture writer, penning features, Q&As and other content across Billboard's online and print properties, as well as for TIME Magazine, Esquire, Vulture, ESPN, Genius, MTV News, Maxim, Vice, Nylon, Nylon Guys, Teen Vogue, MEL Magazine, The New York Post, The New York Daily News, The Daily Beast, Variety, and the failing New York Times. He is also a regular contributor to The Recording Academy’s Grammy.com Brand and marketing clients have included Equinox, Marriott Bonvoy, Glassnote Records, Atlantic Records and Smashbox Studios. In 2021, he conceptualized and wrote a short marking the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks for the New York Jets, narrated by Joe Namath. LeDonne also helped create the Billboard.com web series Charts Center, and a series of videos for the artist Stromae. A resident of Williamsburg who was born in Brooklyn, New York, LeDonne is a graduate of New York's New School and has also studied at both Hofstra University and UCLA. He has studied and performed comedy at Second City: Chicago (as part of their Comedy Studies program), as well as New York's Upright Citizens Brigade and the People's Improv Theater.
