Jason Delorme and Rachelle Giff-Jessup were charged with possession of stolen property by Lanark OPP in May 2015. Shortly after the OPP laid charges, Delorme told the Citizen that the couple bought the horse in good faith from someone in Stittsville, and showed police a bill of sale. At the time, he said they would plead not guilty to the charges.
