Born in 1955, I grew up in Beckenham, Kent, and went to Langley Park School. Teaching career: Teacher: History and Maths, Chaucer Technology School, Canterbury, Kent, 1982-85 Head of History, Hillview School for Girls, Tonbridge, Kent, 1985-88 Head of History, Clarendon House Grammar School, Ramsgate, Kent, 1988-2010 Lectured on Christopher Columbus and emigtaion on QE2, Southampton-New York, Dec. 1992 Awards: Distinction in Certificate of Education, Keele Uiversity, 1978 Kent Teacher of the Year, 1992 Managed the Scrabble team that won the 1999 UK Under 16 schools' competition, the first tournament to be played on the Internet.
