My career began as an elementary teacher and transitioned into higher education. I launched the first graduate advising program in the history of National Louis University, working with over 2,500 educators and 100 professors. My primary work is on Forbes, where I cover education and entrepreneurship. As an education journalist, you can find my work featured in various publications such as Forbes, Entrepreneur, Cision's Influencer Blog, The Huffington Post, The International Educator, We Are Teachers, Fox News Chicago, and The Next Web. I have collaborated with edtech startup founders and interviewed the likes of Shaan Patel, André Thomas, Karl Mehta, Susan Crown, Christopher Gray, Po-Shen Lo and more. Today, I continue to work with leading education entrepreneurs, influencers, and startups. I'm also excited to announce my recent advisory role at The Council on the Future of Education. My beat is K-12 education, higher education, education reform and education technology with purpose. I cover stories from the U.S. House of Representatives, the Education and Workforce Committee as well as the Department of Education. I am on the Advisory Board of The S.T.E.A.D.Y. Academy. The Academy exposes students with disabilities to STEM and offers internships with collaborators including UC Berkeley, IBM, Motorola, T-Mobile, Google & more.
