    By Roger Harnack| Ritzville Adams County Journal Verified OTHELLO — A local man is facing charges in connection with a March 15 shooting while he recovers from a gunshot wound at a hospital. Omar Negrete-Galvan, 22, of Othello, is facing charges of first-degree attempted assault and possession of a weapon capable of producing bodily harm. He is currently recovering in a hospital capable of treating a gunshot would he sustained in an altercation with Johnathan Enriquez, 23, also of Othello, records show.

  • Anti-gun bills draw 9th District e-mails

Mark Schoesler says 9th Legislative District constituents have been flooding his office with messages opposing new anti-gun bills introduced by Westside Democrats. Schoesler, R-Ritzville, last week said he had received “a very large number of emails.”“The message conveyed was pretty straightforward: These anti-gun bills are really bad and we don’t want the Legislature to pass them,” Schoesler said. At issue are two anti-gun bills in the Senate and four in the House.

  • Bronco girls dominate Asotin, Upper Columbia

    By Roger Harnack| Ritzville Adams County Journal Verified RITZVILLE — The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls dominated their opponents last week, scoring more than 60 points against both Asotin and Upper Columbia. On the road Saturday, Jan. 25, the Bronco girls cruised to an easy 66-23 win. That blowout followed a Jan. 21 rout of Upper Columbia Academy, 60-24, at home. Statistics were not reported for the game in Asotin.
