O’Boyle has worked in the office since January 16. Prior to that, O’Boyle was the elected district attorney in Pierce County for 20 years. As ADA, he has prosecuted felony level cases ranging from possessing controlled substances to first-degree intentional homicide.

Barron County had a total of 17,820 voters, which resulted in 39% of eligible voters participating in the election and 59% of registered voters participating. For comparison, in the 2023 Spring Election 28% of eligible voters and 47% of registered voters turned out.
