I first encountered the work of Belgian artist Emmanuel Van der Auwera at the Dallas Art Fair in 2016 in Harlan Levey’s booth, where I’d enjoyed long discussions with Levy about the works of TR Ericsson and Marcin Dudek a year before. At the time, Levy presented two pieces from Van der Auwera’s respective Memento and VideoSculpture series.
