Saleem Samad is an award winning investigative journalist and independent columnist, a media rights defender in Bangladesh. In 1979, he is a pioneer environmental journalist and published several investigative stories in environment. A recipient of the Washington based prestigious Ashoka Fellowship (1991) for agenda-setting journalism and Hellman-Hammett award (2005), New York. His articles appeared in Time magazine, India Today, Outlook, Al Jazeera, Herald magazine, South Asia magazine, Daily Star, Dhaka Tribune, Daily Asian Age, Weekly Dhaka Courier, and International Affairs Review. He is correspondent for the Paris based international media rights watchdog Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and South Asia Correspondent of New York Editorial. He studied at Colorado State University (1994), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA and also at the Advocacy Institute (1996), Washington DC under Ford Foundation fellowship program. He has excellent communication skills. His working language is English. He is learning French. He is work-alcoholic and meets deadline.
