By Sally Grotta Verified| sallywienergrotta.com@ I recently received an email with the subject line: “Uncertainty Is a Feature, Not a Bug.” Given that 2024 was a wrecking race and that the looming uncertainty ahead feels like a relentless drumbeat on my psyche, I couldn’t resisted clicking the link. And I’m glad I did. When I read Jay Michaelson’s essay by that title, I found comfort in his interpretations and reflections on Judaism’s ambiguous relationship with uncertainty.
By Sally Grotta Verified| sallywienergrotta.com@ About a month ago, I experienced a seismic shift. Starting 17 or 18 years ago, my novel, Women of a New Moon, coopted my life. Not that the full usurpation happened right away. The idea for the book swarmed through the creative chaos that is my mind for the initial 10 or 11 years. Or should I say voices?
By Sally Grotta Verified| sallywienergrotta.com@ Yesterday, I drew the curtain on an era. Or is it an intermission in a long-running play whose closing scene remains unwritten – a future that’s unknown and unknowable? Yesterday, I finally finished my new novel – Women of a New Moon. I tend to say that I started Women of a New Moon six or seven years ago. But that’s a guesstimated average, because the story had several stages to its beginning.
