A 60mph highway running straight through the common - an unavoidable obstacle for the livestock – sees animals die each year while trying to cross it. Calls are growing for something to be done.
By Sam Leech Verified| Windsor, Ascot & Eton Express Verified A man in his 20s has suffered life-threatening injuries in a car crash near Ascot Racecourse. The man, who remains in the hospital where he is being treated for a serious head injury, was one of two drivers involved in the crash at around 5pm on Tuesday (April 15). A blue BMW 5 Series and a black Ford Ranger hit each other on Winkfield Road, alongside Ascot racecourse and Royal Ascot Golf Course. The Ford Ranger driver was not injured. Thames Valley Police has appealed for witnesses to the crash.
