Sammy is a rising senior at Yale University, majoring in Political Science and History with a concentration in Race, Gender, and Sexuality. Most of her time, though, is spent at 202 York Street, where she serves as the editor in chief of the Yale Daily News, the country's oldest college daily. She comes from Manila, Philippines, but grew up in Frankfurt, Germany and Baku, Azerbaijan too. She has reported in different countries on migration, local and national politics, culture, crime and justice. Her work has appeared in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, VICE, Yale Daily News, Toledo Blade, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Yale Politic.
