By Ameh Ejekwonyilo, Samson Adenekan Verified| Premium Times Verified The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove Hamza Al-Mustapha’s name as presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) for the 2023 general elections. Mr Al-Mustapha was the Chief Security Officer to Nigeria’s late dictator, Sani Abacha, who died in office in June 1998. The judge, Zainab Abubakar, gave the order removing Mr Al-Mustapha’s name as a presidential candidate, in a judgement on Friday.

Those in attendance were Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Kola Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP). Also present was the PDP vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, who represented Atiku Abubakar. The event was organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development and Arise Television.

Four of Nigeria's 18 presidential candidates are set to debate today (Sunday). The 'presidential town hall' is organised by the Centre for Democracy and Development and Arise Television. Those invited for the debate include Bola Tinubu of the ruling APC, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP.
