Biography

I've been a news and features journalist for more than 30 years, working with daily and regional newspapers. I've worked as reporter, features specialist, news editor, features editor and sports editor. I've worked on stories as diverse as the death of Princess Diana, the Dunblane shootings, celebrity interviews, sport, human interest tearjerkers and crime backgrounders. I was chief writer at the Edinburgh Evening News until April 2015 when I opted to move into freelancing. Since then I've written for The Herald, Herald on Sunday, the Sunday Post, The Times Scotland, the Scottish Daily Mail and The Scotsman. I've also provided content for businesses, including one of the UK's largest banks and a major energy provider and am a regular contributor to Skip Hire & Waste Magazine specialising in company profiles and recycling industry news features.
