By Sarah BRown, Sarah Brown| Lebanon Local News@ The Oregon Electric O-Gaugers Train Club exhibited their room-sized model railroad at the Lebanon Public Library for a week in April, drawing in people of all ages. Library staff worked in conjunction with the event to focus the preschool story time on the topic of trains. After a little singing and reading, the children moved over to the community room where club members ran their trains and answered questions.
By Sarah BRown, Sarah Brown| Lebanon Local News@ The Oregon Oldtime Fiddlers’ Association held its 59th annual Oregon State Open Fiddle Contest at the Mennonite Church on March 15, drawing in 63 contestants between the ages of 6 and 84 from all over the state, and evenfrom as far away as Colorado and other states. Lebanites Isaac Helland, Dayne Ropp, Gretchen Ropp, Saxon Ropp, Jerry Parks and Robert Waterhouse participated in the competition, and Jeri Caudle served as a judge in the entertainment division.
