Using T cells isolated from mice, Guy et al. show that LAG3 can inhibit T cell function in the absence of its canonical ligand, MHC class II. Of note, existing LAG3 therapeutics target the LAG3–MHC class II interaction.

Here, Pan et al. demonstrate that NK cells induce mitochondrial apoptosis of cancer cells, which is essential for NK cell-mediated killing. BH3 profiling — which measures mitochondrial sensitivity to BH3 peptides — showed that NK cells primed cancer cells for mitochondrial apoptosis.
