Google Digital Marketing-certified. With an incurable wanderlust as well as a good instinct for news, I'm fortunate enough to be able to combine the two in my career. This takes me from reporting the news one day to writing about the latest travel trends the next. Both veins converge at the same point: They demand excellent communication skills and the ability to integrate myself into communities, as well as a talent for writing engaging and insightful articles, fast! I've written for many high-profile publications including CNN International, The Los Angeles Times, Financial Times, Global Times and Fodor's Travel, amongst others. My journalistic career began in London more than ten years ago. Initially I was reporting on local government, crime and social issues for newspapers. Living in such a vibrant city, I also seized the opportunity to critique restaurants, hotels and nightclubs, as well as interview A-list celebrities for lifestyle magazines. After a brief stint in broadcast journalism I relocated to the Maldives to oversee the re-launch of a luxury travel magazine and website as News Editor. I then seized the opportunity to set up Manta Media. Manta Media is a network of talented journalists, photographers, graphic designers, translators and videographers available for freelance projects and contracts. I spent several years in the Maldives and Sri Lanka but was drawn back to Europe by the offer of the role of Editor on a prestigious anglophone magazine and website in France. A year later I returned to being a self-employed journalist and managing Manta Media, which continues to offer copywriting, proof-reading and PR services, as well as managing requests for translations and other media services. I also am founder and editor of Manta Media Maldives, www.mmmaldives.com.
