Biography

Sarah Wright is a journalist focusing on the outdoors, climate, housing and transportation. She is the current Outdoors Engagement Reporter at KQED, the Bay Area's NPR station. Most recently, she edited the Palo Alto Weekly after spending a year as a Fulbright grantee reporting on community-driven wildfire mitigation in Argentina. Before that, she was a staff writer for The San Francisco Standard after several years as the Half Moon Bay Review's deputy editor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and has worked in policy and communications in Washington, D.C. Originally from Lake Tahoe, Sarah got her journalism start at Georgetown's newspaper, The Hoya, where she led the copy-editing team and wrote campus life features. Sarah completed the 2,653-mile Pacific Crest Trail during the summer of 2019.
