Sarah Zielinski is managing editor of Science News for Students, an online magazine bringing science journalism to kids ages 9 to 14. She also writes about wildlife, plants and ecology at SNS’ parent publication Science News. Prior to joining SNS, she freelanced for five years, writing and editing for publications such as Slate, National Geographic News, Scientific American and Science. She has also held editorial positions at Smithsonian magazine, the American Geophysical Union and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. She holds a B.A. in biological sciences from Cornell University and an M.A. in journalism through New York University’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program.
