Biography

Dr. Scott Hadland is the Chief of the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at MassGeneral Hospital for Children and Harvard Medical School. He is triple board-certified in General Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Hadland is an expert in caring for teens and young adults with addiction, and has been an international leader in educating other pediatricians and general practitioners on addressing mental health problems and substance use in youth. He was recognized as the Emerging Leader in Adolescent Health from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the largest organization of pediatricians worldwide. He has published more than 100 scientific articles, and his work has been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, CNN, NBC News, CBC News, and other leading news outlets. Dr. Hadland grew up in British Columbia, Canada, before attending McGill University. He moved to the United States, where he earned an MD degree from Washington University, a Master in Public Health from John Hopkins University, and a Master of Science from Harvard University.
