Biography

As a writer, my key interests are in politics, international relations and development. I work as a features writer with the Investing News Network (INN) in Vancouver Canada. INN caters to small cap investors with a focus on resources, technology and cannabis investing. My focus as features writer is on the resources industry, and in a previous role with the company I focused solely on the base metals industry. At the same time, I also work as a freelance writer, with experience writing in various topics ranging from education to travel, to the automotive industry. Prior to coming to Canada, I worked as a community reporter in regional Queensland in Port Douglas, where I was the council, court, police, tourism, general interest and spot news reporter. I also have experience working as a commercial reporter for the Cairns Post, where I worked on special publications focused on economics and small businesses. My education is journalism is from the University of Melbourne, where I obtained a masters degree in journalism. Prior to that, I obtained a graduate diploma in journalism from La Trobe University - also in Melbourne. For my undergraduate education, I have an arts degree majoring in politics from La Trobe University.

  • Q2 financials point to much of the same in Whistler

By Scott Tibballs Verified| Pique NewsMagazine Verified The story told by the small pile of numbers released by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) covering the second quarter of 2024 is a simple one: not much changed compared to Q1. Speaking to the report at the Sept. 24 council meeting, the RMOW's chief financial officer, Carlee Price, said exactly that. "I have very few comments today because most of what has gone on in the second quarter of 2024 very closely resembles what's gone on in the quarters immediately before that," she said.

  • Promises made, but no secured agreements from UBCM: Whistler mayor

By Scott Tibballs Verified| Pique NewsMagazine Verified The week-long municipal talkfest that is the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) annual convention took place in Vancouver last week, with local politicians converging on the city to discuss everything municipal, grab a few ministerial ears, and sit and listen to provincial politicians make promises in the run-up to the Oct. 19 provincial election.
