He began his career at the zoo in 1991 as a zookeeper and later became collection manager for the bird department. He was named curator in 2006 and has served as zoo director for the past 14 years. Fox is widely credited with the success of the zoo’s nationally recognized Humboldt penguin exhibit, which has hatched more than 50 chicks since opening in 2005.

  • Onondaga County wants to spend $27 million on semiconductor supplier sites

    By Scott Willis| WAER-FM (Syracuse, NY) Verified Onondaga County lawmakers are taking a step toward purchasing property to support the semiconductor supply chain. They’re acting on the request of the county executive’s office which wants to remove barriers for companies to locate here. Micron alone works with as many as 900 vendors. Deputy County Executive Bob Petrovich told the legislature’s economic development committee Wednesday there’s plenty of potential. “We are in talks with a number of different companies," Petrovich said.
