West Yorkshire Police believe the vandalism took place at around 8pm on Monday, April 14. On Wiggan Lane, in Bradley Gate Wood, the Platinum Jubilee Bridge was set alight and smashed up. The police believe accelerants were used in the fire and they have recorded the crime as arson. Tragedy stuck on April 3 when Ahmad Mamdouh Al Ibrahim was stabbed to death in the town centre aged just 16.
