Semilore Adelola is a fact-checker, photographer, videography enthusiast and tie-dye entrepreneur. She holds a National Diploma degree in Mass Communication at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu campus. Currently, she is pursuing a B.Sc in Mass Communication at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) As a serial volunteer and media enthusiast interested in media literacy, she was a member of the Nigeria Fact Checkers Coalition (NFC) during the 2023 Lagos governorship election, where she fact-checked election-related information. Semilore became a volunteer at RoundCheck Nigeria to improve her knowledge of information verification. She also recently interned at Shola Animashaun Photography Academy to improve her photography, videography, and social media skills. She is a passionate fact-checking journalist with a keen eye for accuracy and a deep commitment to the principles of truth and accountability. Currently working with Africa Check, a pioneering organization at the forefront of fact-checking in Africa, she contributes to the noble mission of combating misinformation and promoting evidence-based journalism. Semilore is committed to promoting media literacy and critical thinking. She sees fact-checking not only as a profession but as a public service.
