Biography
Currently signed on to be an associate editor at Industry Dive in Washington, D.C. I am a graduate student in Georgetown University's Communication, Culture, and Technology degree program and am graduating with a bachelors in Georgetown's School of Foreign Service within the Science, Technology, and International Affairs department. I write about the ways technological advances in security, especially nuclear weapons, cyber, and outer space, affect international affairs and how we think. I also look at the ways media representations of these topics are products of transitions in cultural norms. Why do we have certain expectations of security and traversing into frontiers? In my free time, I also love to write about literature, art, and music! Specialities are in everything Southern or Southern gothic. Check my articles out from Education Dive, CIO Dive, Utility Dive, The Rio, Times, GNovis Blog, Kalmanovitz Initiative Blog, Mississippi Museum of Modern Art, The Georgetown Voice, and Six by Eight Press!

By Shalina Chatlani Verified| Estes Park Trail-Gazette Verified By Shalina Chatlani, Stateline.orgRepublicans in Congress are eyeing to Medicaid, the joint federal-state government health care program for lower-income people. Depending on how states respond, a Republican proposal that would slash the 90% federal contribution to states’ expanded Medicaid programs would end coverage for as many as 20 million of the 72 million people on Medicaid — or cost states $626 billion over the next decade to keep them on the rolls.
