Its standalone app will be used for only one thing: to educate consumers about scams and fraud. The person-to-person transfers that made Zelle popular are still available, but only if your bank belongs to the Zelle network. If you used Zelle’s app to send or receive money, you’ll now have to use your financial institution’s mobile app or go through online banking.
