Biography

Sharon Rosen Leib is a journalist, former Deputy Attorney General and mother of three young adult daughters. She graduated with honors in English Literature from UC Berkeley and UCLA School of Law. Prior to starting law school, she worked at Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Office of Press and Publications writing press releases for international distribution. After graduating law school, she served as a Deputy Attorney General in California’s Department of Justice where she argued and won two cases before the California Supreme Court. Sharon began writing the award-winning column “Musings From Mama” for the San Diego Jewish Journal in 2004. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Jewish publications throughout California, The Forward, NPR's "California Dreaming" series and the anthology Seder Stories edited by Nancy Rips. She has been featured in two documentary films distributed by 20th Century Fox discussing the life of her great-grandfather, Sol M. Wurtzel, a pioneer Hollywood movie producer who developed the talents of Shirley Temple, Loretta Young, John Ford, Howard Hawks and many other luminaries.
