  • Summerville boys golf shoots season-low scores in win against Riverbank

By Shaun Holkko Verified| The Union Democrat Verified Without any pressure and a victory already secured, the Summerville High School boys varsity golf team shined Wednesday afternoon at the Teleli Golf Club in Sonora. The Bears (2-7) entered the contest with a forfeit win in hand after Riverbank (0-9) arrived with four total players, one short of the minimum needed to compete. “We were making a joke that they waited until the last (home) game to basically shoot their best scores,” Summerville head coach Lindsey Bannwarth said.

  • Summerville baseball wins 4th in a row with 20-0 rout of Riverbank

By Shaun Holkko Verified| The Union Democrat Verified The Summerville High School varsity baseball team improved to a .500 overall record for the first time this season after defeating the winless Riverbank Bruins 20-0 in five innings Tuesday afternoon at home in Tuolumne. All of Summerville’s runs came in the first two innings, while the pitching staff combined for a no-hitter. The Bears (10-10-1, 7-2 Mother Lode League) have now won eight of their last 10 matchups, excluding a pair of lopsided losses against unbeaten Linden (16-4, 10-0).
