I've worked in various business and writing environments for 15 years with my favorite place currently being a freelance writer from home. Starting out as a former editor at a custom magazine publisher, hospital marketers were my clients. Health and wellness, and hospital services and equipment are familiar topics to me. Moving on to a communications specialist position at a healthcare management company, I drafted press releases, internal and external newsletters, staff bios and talking points to name a few things. Since becoming an independent freelance writer, I've continued to write about health and wellness, and have added pet health, Pilates and physical therapy, as well as teen and women's topics to my writing experience. Being the editor in chief of a local lifestyle magazine covered it all. Bottom line is that I love meeting people and learning about their work, life and background so I can share it with others. While still paying off my enormous school loan for my bachelor's degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications from Arizona State University (with an emphasis in public relations), I hope to freelance write for a reputable business on a long-term project. In the meantime, I love learning social media for PR and integrating it with the editing and writing projects I do for my clients. As a Phoenix native who once resided in Pittsburgh, I appreciate the sunshine more than ever and choose 110-degree weather over below zero. When I'm not on my computer, I'm either working out at the gym, kissing my Boston Terrier, dating my husband or loving on my two kiddos.
