Sherri McGee McCovey is a veteran writer/producer whose resume spans many genres. She currently works as a Content Producer for The Stephen A. Smith Show, hosted by the renowned ESPN Analyst. She is a New York Times best-selling author of the books: Skinny Women Are Evil; Skinny Cooks Can't Be Trusted and Beacon Hills High. McCovey's byline has appeared in USA Today, Food&Wine, Parents, InStyle, LA Parent, Essence, Ebony, Upscale, Black Enterprise, SheKnows, and Kindred. On the television front, McCovey has Produced thousands of hours of scripted and unscripted television shows for ABC, BET, Comedy Central, Oxygen, Showtime, VH-1, and Aspire networks. She has worked with comedians Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey, as well as Reverend TD Jakes, Kirk Franklin, Ayesha Curry, Cat Cora, and NBA legend, Earvin “Magic” Johnson. McCovey's first television pitch earned her membership into the Writer’s Guild which led her to co-write the independent film Hair Show. McCovey’s most memorable job was producing the Showtime special, I Coulda Been Your Cellmate shot entirely on location at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. A graduate of Spelman College, McCovey shares her knowledge of the industry at writer’s symposiums, and colleges, and supports the charitable organization Hope in a Suitcase, Global Mobility, Jenesse Center, and the American Diabetes Association.
