The president of the Georgia Chamber held a press conference Wednesday to talk about the impacts of recent tariffs. Due to the retail import market, China is in the top five of Georgia’s trading partners. These tariffs could impact the Peach State. According to a report from the Georgia Chamber, higher tariffs could lead to Chinese importers sourcing from elsewhere.

  • Official packing date for Vidalia onion season kicks off

(WTOC) - Very soon you will be able to enjoy those sweet Vidalia onions as Tuesday is the official packing date for the season. Officials say the annual packing date is determined by how the soil and weather conditions are during the growing season. This year there were 10,000 acres of onions planted. Cliff Riner is the chairman of the Vidalia Onion Committee, he said having a set date to start packing helps farmers promote the crop.
