Biography
I'm delighted to be part of the BBC.com team. As senior producer, I'm responsible for curating a balanced mix of news and features for global editions of the BBC.com homepage and index pages. Previously, I worked as a digital producer for BBC.com features – a role that saw me managing social media and writing original stories for BBC Autos, BBC Travel and BBC Worklife (previously BBC Capital). Successes include boosting social presence, drastically increasing followers, reporting and writing unique stories for BBC.com. Before joining the BBC team, I was the digital engagement editor at The Buffalo News. My responsibilities included coordinating social media strategies for the entire company and implementing new, exciting changes to how the newspaper and news website interact with readers. Before joining the newsroom, I worked one floor up at Buffalo.com as multimedia content coordinator. In a nutshell, I did it all -- blogging, homepage editing, video production, social media management, SEO. Prior to my days in Buffalo, I spent a handful of years in Syracuse, NY, where I earned my master's degree in magazine, newspaper and online journalism for Syracuse University's SI New House School of Public Communications, and worked in multiple capacities at The Post-Standard and Syracuse.com. As mentioned up top, I am really into Irish dancing. I'm an Irish step dancer, and I freelance for Irish cultural publications in my spare time.
