Biography
When I started my career in journalism few people had mobile phones and Google didn't exist… that may age me, but with more than 500,000 followers via my two Instagram accounts (@Couturenotebook & @LuxArtAsia), I like to think I’ve kept up with the times. From covering central bank meetings — waiting in lobbies in the vain hope of getting usable quotes on policy changes on interest rates — and more dramatic life-changing events such as seeing firsthand the extent of the Tsunami devastation over Aceh a few days after the 2004 tragedy, to providing insights into the rather more glamorous and often surreal worlds of fashion and art, whether that means attending Paris Couture week or visiting Yayoi Kusama in her studio to watch her work, I can proudly say I’ve covered nearly every journalism beat. I can craft an interesting story on even the driest subjects and take readers beyond the first couple of graphs. Over the years, I've contributed on a regular basis to Newsweek, The New York Times, the South China Morning Post, and many others. Few people know that...: --I used to read the stock market report on Newsradio 93.8 every day; --I was the ghostwriter for a CEO's book; --I did some live cross-over coverage of the APEC meeting in 2009 for CCTV 9 (and got the scare of my life); --I curated an art exhibition around the theme of consumerism; --I spent two days on the film set of Bodyguards & Assassins with Donnie Yen watching what would turn out to be a one-minute section in the final film; --it took me 25 years to realize my teenage dream of interviewing Christopher Lambert, and yes, I was still a little bit star struck!

Is it intact or have original parts been replaced?
By Sonia Kolesnikov-Jessop Verified| CNN Verified Written by Sonia Kolesnikov-Jessop, CNNParisIn many ways, Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris feels like a bubble full of embroidery, feathers and acres of tulle ruffles, a showcase of incredible handmade designs that could sell well north of $100,000. However, at the Autumn-Winter 2019 shows, though the focus remained very much on offering escapism through exquisite fabrics and elaborate craftsmanship, some couturiers also provided touches of realism.
