I am a sophomore at the University of Missouri Journalism School, pursuing degrees in journalism and sociology. I am the News Editor for MU's newspaper, The Maneater, where I write and edit articles informing our student body of 26,000. I am an intern for Watchdog Writers Group where I research and create data visualizations for a project on mass female incarceration. Lastly, I am a research assistant for a PhD project on weight stigma in healthcare for Black women. I collect qualitative data and code interviews.

MU student pleads guilty to second degree property damage after damaging a display Shabbat table showing support for Israeli hostages
By Sophia Anderson, Vivi Hershfield| The Maneater Verified On Wednesday, Jan. 17, an MU student pled guilty to second degree property damage in Columbia Municipal Court for flipping a display Shabbat table with symbolic place settings for Israeli hostages in Speakers Circle in November 2023. MUPD arrested the student following a 911 call regarding vandalism at a Shabbat table display Speakers Circle around noon on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023. The student did not respond to The Maneater’s request for comment.
