Biography

I am a senior reporter with Research Professional news, part of Clarivate. I write about research policy in the UK and Europe, and sometimes the US and Australia. Got a story? Contact me at: Sophie.hogan@clarivate.com I have previously been a reporter and editor at international education specialist media outlet the PIE News, where I travelled frequently for conferences and wrote stories across the sector. I have also been a picture editor at the Press Association, specialising in news and then showbiz. I occasionally took my own photos, which were used by various publications including the Washington Post, Mail on Sunday and BBC News. I also wrote book reviews for PA's features department. I gained my NCTJ diploma in multimedia journalism with PA Training, which also included a sub qualification in magazine journalism. I achieved a BA in Spanish and Portuguese Studies from Queen's University Belfast, and during my year abroad I worked as a writer and photographer for the Bolivian Express in La Paz.
