I became Bloomberg's New Jersey bureau chief in early 2018. I help oversee the news staff in our Trenton and Princeton offices. Before then I had been Trenton Bureau Chief since 2005. I edit, assign and write stories about New Jersey government and finance. In August 2018, I also joined Bloomberg's TOP team, which oversees the TOP News page. We determine which stories appear on the page and where they should be placed. We also re-write headlines, send urgent news headlines, and suggest improvements, photos and graphics for the stories. I got my start in journalism at the Trenton Statehouse in 1993 with a reporting internship for the Asbury Park Press. After graduating college in 1995 I went to work for the Asbury Park Press full time, and then moved to its sister paper, the Home News, to cover municipal government. I was hired by Bloomberg in 1997. I was first a reporter, and then I became an editor in 2000.
