The Town Council on March 18 reviewed five proposals for new “Welcome to Yucca Valley” signs to be placed near Twentynine Palms Highway near the west end of town.
By Stacy Moore Verified| Hi-Desert Star Verified MORONGO BASIN — Residents of Yucca Valley and surrounding areas spoke at a public meeting Monday, asking state wildlife staff to reconsider fees to be charged for development near western Joshua trees. California Department of Fish and Wildlife staff held two similar online workshops March 10 to present the Joshua Tree Conservation Plan. The plan was required by a 2023 state law, the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act. Fish and Wildlife commissioners must vote on the conservation plan by June 30.
