I’m the author of two books in Italian. Oro rosso (Red Gold), published by Settenove, is about female workers in the Mediterranean areas, mostly immigrants, sexually harassed, coerced and raped in greenhouses and fields. They react to sexual violence supporting each other and taking legal actions. Le conseguenze (The Consequences), published by Settenove, is about femicide in Italy and the increasing number of families which undertake daily battles. Some write books, start petitions, collect funds for awareness-raising campaigns or engage in online activism. Their aim is to get society to understand how murders of women have precise cultural and social roots. Oro rosso and Le conseguenze are also two photo exhibitions set up in more than twenty Italian cities. I speak lecture in university, school, festival, and community spaces. I won international awards and prizes such as National Geographic Emergency Journalism Fund Grant, Volkart Stiftung Grant, Henri Nannen Preis, Otto Brenner Preis, Georg Von Holtzbrinck Preis, The Pollination Project.
