The fire began around 1 p.m. at 149 Pleasant St. and was knocked down within the hour, but it caused interior damage. The injured occupant came out of the building, fell, then “split open his head,” and is now being treated at North Adams Regional Hospital, according to North Adams Mayor Jennifer Macksey.
