By Steve Silk Verified| greatnorthroad.info@ IF you'd turned on Radio 4 at 3pm on Saturday you'd have chanced upon an hour-long drama entitled South on the Great North Road. Written by Tyneside-based Michael Chaplin, it tells the story of a Geordie trucker called Peggy and her chance meeting with a runaway lass trying to hitch-hike her way out of trouble from the Angel of the North. Beautifully scripted, with dialogue to die for, it would have held my attention whatever the road.
