  • TRACKING THE TROPCIS: All eyes on the Caribbean

By Steve Villanueva Verified, Jonathan Diego Verified, James Wieland Verified| WPTV-TV (West Palm Beach, FL) Verified There are 3 separate systems the NHC is watching. Tropical Storm Kirk, just west of the Cabo Verde Islands will become a hurricane in the next day or so. Will likely become a major hurricane before curving in the hurricane graveyard or the North Atlantic. Behind Kirk, there is a tropical wave that may become tropical cyclone soon. It has a high chance of developing. Models spin up a Tropical Depression or Storm over the next several days.

  • WHAT TO EXPECT: Will the rain continue?

By Steve Villanueva Verified, Jonathan Diego Verified, James Wieland Verified| WPTV-TV (West Palm Beach, FL) Verified WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — High pressure offshore will create a Southeast wind as we head into the next two days. This will allow the afternoon sea breeze to march inland, and produce mostly inland showers and thunderstorms. But with high pressure dominating, the showers and storms will be more limited in nature. Roughly a 30% to 40% chance of seeing a shower or storm today and tomorrow. But rain chances do start to increase by Friday and into the weekend.
